Karachi: The Sindh High Court has directed the Pakistan
Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to declare its final step towards the
complaint lodged by one of the young woman for deleting her Facebook account.
The case has been taken to the court by the petitioner Umme Laila
Naz. The petitioner has filed case against her relatives who are alleged
to created facebook account by her name, using her pictures. According
to the details, Laila had been engaged to Naveed Siddiqui in 2009.
Naveed is son of Naeem Akhtar Siddiqui. Mehwish Siddiqui, resident of
Surjani town is said to be the real culprit along with her sons, Faisal
and Farrukh.
Laila alleged Mehwish with the charge of deliberately trying to end
up the engagement ties of the two fellows by doing such thing.
Advocate Munir Ahmed Khan, the petitioner’s lawyer demanded the PTA
to take strict notice of the issue. The fake facebook IDS bearing her
name should be deleted that have her pictures on the social website.
The petitioner also asked the police authorities to take legal action
against the culprits for violating her personal pictures and her name
for their motives. FIR should be registered against the involved men,
she demanded.
The case hearing has been adjourned till next week that is 14 of
October. On the given date, the PTA is asked to present its last stance
in the case.
